Gaudete – From “The Gifts of Midwinter” Christmas Album

This is kind of exciting – our first music video. Well, our first video that wasn’t just a live performance shot through a camcorder anyway. It’s the song Gaudete, a medieval Christmas carol sung in Latin. It’s also the first song on our Christmas album (our = Ken and Lisa Theriot) The Gifts of Midwinter.  The song was made popular in the latter half of the 20th century probably most by the English folk-rock group Steel-Eye Span . The version from The Gifts of Midwinter is a bit different – with its middle-eastern rhythms and syncopated melody line. It is sung in 4-part harmony and we think it rocks:).
